Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is a Starlink Mini battery adapter?

SL-Mini GO (also called a Starlink Mini power adapter) lets you power your Starlink Mini using compatible power tool batteries—like Milwaukee M18 or DeWalt 20V / 20V MAX. It’s a portable, off-grid power solution for travel, RV use, overlanding, emergency internet, and remote work.

Currently, SL-Mini GO versions are built for specific battery families:

  • Milwaukee M18 tool batteries

  • DeWalt 20V / 20V MAX tool batteries

  • RIDGID 18V / 18V MAX tool batteries

Be sure to choose the correct version for your battery ecosystem.

This adapter is designed for Starlink Mini. It’s not intended for other Starlink hardware unless explicitly stated on the product page.

LVC stands for low-voltage cutoff. It’s a battery-protection feature that helps prevent over-discharge by shutting the adapter down when voltage drops to a set threshold. Many basic adapters don’t include LVC, which increases the risk of battery damage if the pack is drained too far.

The LVC threshold is set around 15V. Under real-world load, exact cutoff behavior can vary slightly depending on battery condition, temperature, and current draw.

Runtime depends on battery capacity (Ah), battery health, and Starlink Mini power draw. Rough estimates:

  • 2Ah ≈ 1.5 hours

  • 4Ah ≈ 3 hours

  • 5Ah ≈ 4 hours

  • 9Ah ≈ 7 hours

Actual results vary based on conditions (signal environment, temperature, cable length, and workload).

The LED display provides a quick way to monitor adapter voltage while powering Starlink Mini. A full battery is typically around ~21V, and the adapter will shut down at the LVC threshold.

  • Attach a compatible battery (Milwaukee M18 or DeWalt 20V, depending on your version).

  • Connect the adapter output to your Starlink Mini power input.

  • Power on Starlink Mini and monitor voltage on the LED display.

  • When the battery reaches LVC, the adapter will shut down to help protect the battery pack.

Treat the adapter as not waterproof. Keep it dry, avoid direct exposure to rain or snow, and provide ventilation—especially in hot environments. For outdoor use, place the adapter and battery in a protected, ventilated location.
